Kids got sick. Kids made me sick. No one had the Swine Flu so that's a good thing.

Lots of new things happening here. The two biggest are fixing up our 130 year old house and making the decision to go back to school. We have been slowing updating our house since purchasing it 10 years ago. The final two projects included taking care of the outside of the house and our kitchen. The outside was too big a project for just me and my husband to handle so we finally broke down and hire someone. The kitchen however we will be tackling ourselves. It will involve creating a pantry/storage area in our back hallway as well as putting in new cabinets. This should keep us pretty busy in the near future.

Decided to go back to school. Building a business takes time especially now that the economy is having serious issues. I've been thinking of going back to school for quite some time now and this is my chance to do it. It will only be part time but it's a start.

So what does this all mean? It means I'm looking to stream line my business as much as possible. The first change I made is to use Paypal for credit card orders. I had previously been using my own merchant account for these types of orders. With the declining economy they recently started tacking on higher and higher processing fees. Going with paypal means that I would be able to accept a wider variety of credit cards and not just Visa or Mastercard. Paypal's fees haven't gone up so far (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) so that means I don't have to increase prices.

I've also got several other really big plans for the future. I am currently working with another small business and will be doing a combined workshop with them. I'm also working on putting together several ebooklets with lots of Do-It-Yourself hand and foot care information.
